Overview

⚙️ Key Specs & Components

  • 🧠 Controller: IntelliChem digital chemistry brain
  • 🌡️ Sensors: pH probe + ORP probe + flow sensor
  • 🧴 Chemical tanks:
    • Acid tank (pH down control)
    • Chlorine tank (sanitization dosing)
  • 💉 Pumps: Stenner-style peristaltic dosing pumps
  • 🔌 Integration: Works with Pentair automation (EasyTouch / IntelliTouch / IntelliCenter)
  • 🏊 Use type: Residential + commercial-grade pools
  • ⚖️ Weight: ~43 lbs (controller unit package)

🧠 How it works (simple explanation)

  1. Sensors constantly test water:
    • pH too high → system adds acid
    • chlorine low → system adds sanitizer
  2. Controller calculates dosage using:
    • ORP readings (sanitizer effectiveness)
    • Langelier Saturation Index (water balance)
  3. Pumps automatically inject chemicals in small controlled doses

👉 Result: the pool “self-adjusts” water chemistry 24/7.

💡 Main Features

  • 🤖 Fully automated pH + chlorine control
  • 📊 Built-in water balance (LSI) calculator
  • 🔒 Password-protected settings (prevents accidental changes)
  • 💧 Flow safety switch (won’t dose without water flow)
  • 📱 Works with Pentair automation systems
  • ⚙️ Programmable dosing cycles (precise chemical control)
  • 🏢 Commercial-grade accuracy (used in hotels, water parks, etc.)

👍 Pros

  • ✔️ True hands-off chemical automation
  • ✔️ Maintains very stable water chemistry
  • ✔️ Reduces manual testing and dosing
  • ✔️ Professional-grade accuracy (better than basic chlorinators)
  • ✔️ Integrates with full Pentair smart pool systems

👎 Cons

  • ❌ Requires professional installation + calibration
  • ❌ ORP sensors can drift → needs maintenance
  • ❌ Pumps make audible dosing noise (common complaint)
  • ❌ Still requires periodic manual water testing
  • ❌ Not “install and forget forever”
